New Faces Every Workshop 🩰

Our instructors change every workshop so that we can invite a variety of professional dancers, instructors, and choreographers of different backgrounds, skill levels, and expertise. This allows us to bring the best quality, most diverse, and inclusive dance classes to our lovely dance community in Ottawa, ON.!

You may see some returning faces in our future workshops but each workshop will feature a new panel of excellent choreographers, teaching many different styles of dance! πŸͺ©πŸ•ΊπŸΌ

Meet Our Director 🫢

Manhattan MacLennan (she/her) is a queer movement artist from Sudbury, ON., currently in her final year of her BA (Honours) in Communication and Media Studies at Carleton University, with a minor in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies. Teaching, dancing, and media are her biggest passions, and this project has truly become her baby since it allowed her to bring these worlds together! πŸŒˆπŸ“²πŸ©°

She is competitively trained in many styles, including jazz, hip-hop, pom, tap, musical theatre, acro, contemporary, lyrical, and ballet, but also enjoys line dancing, cheerleading, and learning new styles whenever she can. Beyond dance, she loves all creative outlets—performing, creative writing, public speaking, digital design, and content creation. She has been teaching dance for just over 6 years to all levels, abilities, and ages and she's excited to continue dancing and inspiring through @give.danceachance!

When Manhattan isn't in a community musical, playing with her kitten, or running Give Dance a Chance, you can find her at Union Studios in Westboro, Ottawa, teaching Jazz Funk (Beg-Inter) at 6pm every Tuesday night! 🎭πŸͺ©
