Meet Our Director π«Ά
Manhattan MacLennan (She/Her) is a queer movement artist from Sudbury, ON., she recently completed her BA at Carleton University in Communication & Media Studies with a minor in Applied Linguistics and Discourse Studies. She will be attending uOttawa this fall to pursue her passion for teaching and education as well, in the Teachers College program. Dancing, instructing, choreographing and media marketing are her biggest passions, and this project has truly become her baby since it allows her to bring these worlds together! ππ²π©°
She is competitively trained in many styles, including jazz, hip-hop, pom, tap, musical theatre, acro, contemporary, lyrical, and ballet, but also enjoys line dancing, cheerleading, theatre and learning new styles whenever she can. Beyond dance, she loves all creative outlets—performing, creative writing, singing, acting, public speaking, digital design, and content creation. She has been teaching dance for almost 7 years to all levels, abilities, and ages, at multiple studios across Ontario and she's excited to continue dancing, teaching and inspiring through Give Dance A Chance!
When Manhattan isn't in a community theatre show, playing with her kitten, Mango, or running Give Dance a Chance, you can find her at Union Studios in Westboro, Ottawa, teaching Jazz Funk (Beg-Inter) at 6pm every Tuesday night! ππͺ©
