Our first workshop ever was held on November 24, 2025 at Union Studios! Since then, we've been offering dozens of mobile dance workshops to the Ottawa community with a mission to make dance financially and physically accessible to EVERY body!
And recently we've started also offering in-school workshops at local Ontario schools as well at affordable pricing!
We've been having so much fun with everyone at these workshops; we can't wait for more to come!

Give Dance a Chance stands apart by delivering financially accessible adult (16+) dance classes to EVERYONE, regardless of level, background, race, or identity. We bring an excellent panel of diverse, quality instructors to every mobile workshop we create and coordinate. Join us and experience the difference!
Our Story 📖
Give Dance a Chance was born out of an Event Management class in the Communications program at Carleton University, where classmates Manhattan, Emily, Emma, Lizzie, and Sydney combined their community connections and dance experience to create what they thought would be a one-time, pay-what-you-can, adult dance workshop. Their goal was simple: make dance accessible to everyone. What started small quickly grew into something incredibly meaningful when their very first classes at Union Studios in Westboro completely sold out and touched the lives of so many participants. Today, original choreographer and administrator, Manhattan MacLennan, leads Give Dance a Chance as Director and Head Choreographer, continuing to grow the workshop into a welcoming space where anyone can (re-)discover the joy of dance.
